Mafi-Trench HistoryMafi-Trench Company was founded in 1975 by Sharif Mafi and Jack Trench. Originally established in Westlake Village in Southern California, MTC offered a "Fresh Approach" to the blossoming hydrocarbon turboexpander market. Supported by key gas processing companies such as Randall Process Systems, Phillips Petroleum and T.H. Russell, MTC quickly established itself as a leader in the turbomachinery market. In 1981, MTC moved to its present facility in the California central coast city of Santa Maria. This new 90,000 ft2 (8,400 m2) facility allowed Mafi-Trench to design, manufacture and test its entire line of turboexpanders. Following the retirement of Jack Trench, MTC met with some misfortune when Sharif Mafi unexpectedly passed away in 1986. Jack came out of retirement for a brief period to allow for the company to locate a new ownership team. Over the years, MTC grew into a market leader, providing premium service and ISO 9001 quality in the hydrocarbon processing industry. Today, MTC continues to provide high quality and reliable machinery to the Natural Gas Processing, Petrochemical, and power generation markets. In July 2007 Mafi-Trench Corporation was renamed Mafi-Trench Company due to its purchase by Atlas-Copco. Mafi-Trench’s new owners remain committed to contributing to the superior productivity of our customers through innovation and interaction. |
