Expander-Compressor

Expander-Compressors are high-speed rotating machines used in cryogenic applications including: natural gas processing, petrochemical processing, and air separation. The power that the expander removes from its process stream is entirely transferred to the compressor’s process stream. Therefore, the expander produces the process refrigeration necessary for cryogenic gas processing while recovering that power for use elsewhere in the process.
